My name is Tahsin Unsal and I am a travel agent based in Istanbul, Turkey. I provide individual or small group tours for the people visiting Turkey including the most popular sites such as Istanbul, Ephesus,Pamukkale, Antalya or Cappadocia. I have recognized that dialysis patients are having diffuculties to visit my country, probably finding the facilities of advanced dialysis treatment combined with a suitable customized tour itinerary in Turkey. Myself is also having dialysis treatment for the last 14 years for 3 times a week and already had been to many different dialysis centers in Turkey during my business or personal visits. I thought I can help the other dialysis patients whom would like to visit Turkey and provide them a smooth trip by providing them easy day trips at sites, comfortable and good for value hotels and arrangements at modern dialysis centers at overnighted cities. As I personally know the needs of a dialysis patient, I certainly give high care to their health and comfort during their trip by avoiding them from rush and tiring activities.
I am having my treatment at FMC (Fresenius Medical Care) Dialysis Center in Istanbul which has a network of centers splendid through the whole country. Regarding their high standarts for dialysis treatment, modern equipments and vey well trained staff, I am very confident to cooperate with FMC Dialysis Centers during the whole trip. Depending on the tour itinerary, the treatments will be provided at the centers in Istanbul, Izmir, Antalya, Konya and Kayseri. You will be requested to provide all your health and insuarance documents in advance which will be inspected by local FMC specialists and they will contact with you directly in case they need. All your questions about your treatment during your trip in Turkey will be also replied by FMC Travel Cooperate Directors in Turkey. Myself will be in touch with you during the whole trip and follow up all your steps being sure that you are in safe and good condition. My mobile phone will be provided for all guests for any kind of urgent cases. Please note that English is commonly spoken by doctors at centers as well as the nurses, additionally you will be guided by professional tour guides at the touristic sites.
The following itinerary can be organized either for individual travellers or small group of dialysis patients travelling together. Flight connections provided between the main sites in order to avoid long bus journies (train and ferry transport are not very common in Turkey) Local transports will be provided with air-conditioned new vans including your transfers to dialysis centers at sites. You will attend to small group tours which are moving slow and your guides will be advance notified to make the tour at a reasonable speed by consedering your comfort. Hotels are chosen carefully for being close by the dialysis centers and ofcourse being clean and comfortable. You may ask to upgrade your hotels with luxury ones for which we can offer you different options. The itineraries can be revised in accordance with your comments or due to the local flight connections. All itineraries applicable through the whole year whereas the best times to travel in Turkey are through March to June and September to November
1st Day : Arrival to Istanbul :
One of our colleagues will be waiting for you at the arrival hall bearing a sign with your name on it. You will be greeted by a courteous member of our staff who will load your luggage into our midi-van and take you directly to your hotel. Check in to your room and rest. Stay in Istanbul.
2nd Day : Morning Bosphorus Tour & Afternoon Dialysis Treatment :
You will be picked up at about 08:30 am. You will first Rustem Pasa Mosque, special with Ottoman tiles and then walk through the Egyptian Bazaar (Spice Market) built in 1664 and filled with the fragrance of the exotic East such as spices, dried fruits, turkish delights. The Bosphorus cruise by TurYol boat takes about 1.5 hour and you will see the most impressive sights along the shores of the Bosphorus including Dolmabahce Palace, Ciragan Palace, Maiden´s Tower, Bosphorus bridges, Rumeli and Anadolu fortresses and Ottoman Residences. Return to the port at about 12:00. Free time for lunch. pick up from your hotel about 14.30 and transfer to the FMC Dialysis Center for the treatment. At the end of the treatment, you will be transferred to your hotel with a private van again. Stay in Istanbul. (breakfast included)
3rd Day : Istanbul Highlights Tour :
You will be picked up at about 08:30 am. You will visit Topkapi Palace, the residance of Ottoman Sultans for about 400 years. Th palace has been transformed one of the most interesting museums in the world today where some of the most valuable treasury of Ottoman Empire, some sacred relics and more colorful objects are displayed. Next visit is to Basilica Cistern dating to the 6th century which is the largest underground water cictern in the world. The pillars derived from ancient temples which is giving her a sense of Underground Water Palace. Before the lunch, you will see Roman Hippodrome, once the scene of riots and horse-drawn cars races. Today, it preserves some of the most ancient relics in the city. You will have free time for lunch and in the afternoon you will visit Hagia Sophia Museum which is found on the World Heritage List as being one of the most splendid monuments in the world. It dates to the 5th century and constructed as the Imperial Catedral of Eastern Roman Empire. Transformed to Mosque after the Conquest and kept her holy meaning among the Muslims. Today it is serving as a Museum. Later on, you will visit Blue Mosque (Sultanahmet Mosque) having an important role in the siluet of Istanbul. Dating to the 16th century, it is one of the most beatiful monuments of Islamic architecture and inside walls decoreted with unique tiles. The tour ends with free time on Grand Bazaar while you will be able to see Million stone, Tomb of Sultan Mahmud and ancient Ottoman cemetery and Burnt Column on your way to there. You can spend your time as you like in the Bazaar and you will be advised how to get back to the hotel on your own. Stay in Istanbul. (breakfast included)
4th Day : Flight to Izmir & Afternoon Dialysis Treatment :
Pick up from your hotel about 08.30 am and transfer to the airport for the flight to Izmir departing in the late morning. You will be met at the airport and transfer to your hotel at central Izmir. Free time for the lunch. In the afternoon, you will be transferred to FMC Dialysis Center for your afternoon treatment. Afterwards, transfer back to your hotel and rest. Stay in Izmir. (breakfast included)
5th Day : Ephesus & Virgin Mary's House Tour :
The pick up time is 08.00 am from the hotel for full day Ephesus Ancient City and Virgin Mary´s House Tour. You will visit Ephesus which is known to be the Commercial, the Religious and the Social Center of Antiquity, and one of the Highlights of any Visit in Turkey. After the lunch, you will drive to Temple of Artemis (Diana), the site of one of the seven wonders of the ancient world; House of Virgin Mary, probably where She spent recent years of Her life; Isa Bey Mosque, this impressive mosque from XIV. Century A.D. is unlike any other you will see in this country. Drop off at your hotel about 16.30. Check in to your hotel located at central Kusadasi and free time at site. You can enjoy this sea-side resort at night popular with bazaar and shops. Stay in Kusadasi. (breakfast and lunch included)
6th Day : Pamukkale Tour & Bus to Antalya :
After breakfast, departure Pamukkale about 08.30 am which is the center of natural thermal spring waters with healing properties. Due to the chemical properties in the water, pure white colored travertines and stepped water terraces have been created on the mountain slope. It is for its resemblance to cotton piles that it is called ´Cotton Castle´ in Turkish. Visit the travertines and the ancient city of Hierapolis which has the biggest Nekropol with 1200 gravestones in Anatolia. The sacred pool also is one of the highlights of the site. There shallow thermal waters ripple over a wonderful scattering of ancient roman ruins that lie beneath. You may swim in that pool on your free time by paying the entrance fee on your own. After the tour, you will take a public bus to Antalya which takes 4 hours through a splendid view. You will be met at the bus station and transfer to your hotel located in the Old City of Antalya. 7th Day : Morning Dialysis Treatment & Free time in Antalya :
You will be picked up from your hotel and transfer to FMC Dialysis Center in Antalya for the morning treatment. Afterwards, you will be transferred back to your hotel. Free time in the afternoon. You may rest at the hotel or enjoy the closeby beach. Stay in Antalya. (breakfast included)
8th Day : Antalya City Tour :
You will be picked up from your hotel at 08:30 am dfor the full day Perge, Aspendos, Side Tour. We will visit Perge Ancient City, stadium, Roman Gate, Nymphaeum, Roman Bath, Hellenistic Gate, Colonnaded Main Street and the Agora. According to the geographer Strabon. Perge has been founded by Akhas who came down here after the Trojan wars. Perge was first mentioned in 334 BC when Alexander the Great passed through here. In the following years, Perge went under the control of Pergamon when the Kingdom of Pergamon became a part of the Roman city. Especially in the first and the second centuries BC, Perge became one of the richest towns in Pamphylia. Therefore it is not a surprising that St. Paul started his campaign in Anatolia from Perge in 46 AD. After the tour, departure for Aspendos. Lunch break on the Kporupazari stream near the Aspendos Theater. We will visit Aspendes Theater and Historical Aqueducts. The eastern land of Antalya was called Pamphylia in ancient times. Aspendos (Belkis) lies 47 km east of Antalya in the Pamphylian plain. In 486 BC, Greeks and Persians had a great battle here (Greeks won, they didn´t stay for long). During the reign of he Roman emperor Marcus Aurelius (161-80 AD) Aspendos got its theatre, which is the best preserved of all. It was built by Romans and maintained by Byzantines and Seljuks. After the tour youguide give an introduction of Side and 1 hours free tine. Returning to the hotel about 18:00. Stay in Antalya. (breakfast and lunch included)
9th Day : Bus to Konya & Afternoon Dialysis Treatment :
After the breakfast, you will be transferred to the bus station for an early morning bus to Konya (5 hrs) You will be met at the bus station and transfer to your hotel. Check in to your room. In the afternoon, you will be transferred to FMC Dialysis Center Konya for your afternoon treatment. Afterwards, transfer back to your hotel and rest. Stay in Konya. (breakfast included)
10th Day : Morning Konya Tour & Afternoon bus to Cappadocia :
Pick up from your hotel at 09.30 am and you will make a guided tour in Konya. Konya was the capital city of Seljuk Empire founded by Turks and has been the residance of Rumi Dervishes. Mevlana Rumi spent his life in Konya where he wrote his famous books about Sufi and his ideas spread over the world after his death from here. You visit Mevlana Museum and his tomb, Karatay Medrese, Alaaddin Hill, the old bazaar and the other remainings belonging to Seljuk architecture. You will be dropped of at the bus station after the tour for an early afternoon bus to Cappadocia. (4 hrs) You will be met at the bus station and transfer to your hotel. Stay in Cappadocia. (breakfast and lunch included)
11th Day : Morning Cappadocia Tour & Afternoon Dialysis Treatment :
Pick up from your hotel about 09.00 am and you will visit Kaymakli Underground City (See how the people lived in this multi level city complete with stables, kitchens, storage chambers and wine making rooms). Next visit is to Soganli Valley to see some Byzantine rock churches. Drop off at your hotel about noon time. Free time for the lunch. In the afternoon, you will be transferred to FMC Dialysis Center Cappadocia for your afternoon treatment. Afterwards, transfer back to your hotel and rest. Stay in Cappadocia. (breakfast included)
12th Day : Full day Cappadocia Tour :
Pick up from your hotel about 09.00 am you will visit Devrent Imagination Valley and walk through this lunar landscape. Next, visit Zelve Open Air Museum, where you will witness houses carved into the rocks, a Seljukian mosque as well as traces of most, if not all, ancient civilizations, Pasabaglari (the world-famous Fairy Chimneys), the village of Avanos, where you will witness a Pottery-making demonstration using ancient Hittite techniques, lunch at a local cave restaurant, Uchisar Rock-Castle, (the highest point in the region, Esentepe (a panoramic view of Goreme valley) and Goreme Open Air Museum (Rock-cut churches, frescoes, monastery). The tour ends about 17.00. You will be transferred right to the airport after the tour for the flight to Istanbul dept at 19.15 / arrv 20.40. You will be met at the airport and transfer to your hotel. Stay in Istanbul. (breakfast and lunch included)
13th Day : Morning Dialysis Treatment & Return flight to home :
You will be picked up from your hotel in the early morning and transfer to FMC Dialysis Center in Istanbul for the morning treatment. We will transfer you to the airport in the afternoon in accordance with your international flight.

The tours are quarantee departured through the whole year with subject to availability on flights, hotels and dialysis centers. You will attend to small group tours at all sites whereas you will use reliable domestic flight tickets for inter-city transports. All your local airport and dialysis center transports will be provided by us.
